After thinking of the idea she set out to take coding classes and fulfill her dream. A short while later her brother Charlie joined the project. Hannah’s innovative idea and her brother’s design knowledge were perfect for the task. They worked together on the specifications and Charlie continues to complete updates on the app as needed. The app notOK was launched in January of 2018 and has been a great success for all users.
The app displays a button that can be easily pressed. Upon doing so the system will notify up to five different people who can be pre-selected. It will send them a message that indicates something is wrong, as well as the specific GPS location.
Together the teens have made incredible strides for the app. Their collaboration is incredibly important for people of all ages. The app creates a sense of security and makes it easy to stay in touch with people who can help during an emergency. The end product has helped Hannah change her life. She now feels more confident about being by herself and is also interested in expanding the app to help others. There are a lot of potential applications for the notification system. For example, it could be used by senior citizens and adults with debilitating conditions like POTS.
Hannah and Charlie are presently working on new app projects. Their skill sets are complementary and they have a proven track record with notOK. Their consistent efforts and dedication are sure to bring about some of the most novel innovations in the years to come.
